About Linda

Let me introduce myself.

As far back as I can remember, I loved books.

I was born in Hickory, NC. Upon graduating from Fred T. Foard High School, I attended Nursing School at Cabarrus School of Nursing. Before I completed graduation, I sustained life-threatening injuries in a car accident which forced me to end my education. A severe head injury and one side of my body broken, I decided to add Physical Therapist to my list of activities.

Even though I was told by doctors that I would never gain total use of my left arm, it surprised me to find that recovery allowed me to continue my life as before. The loss of feeling in two fingers of my right hand created the need for compensation with the use of that extremity. When I realized that I was not greatly hindered, I returned to earn my degree in nursing. My first position was at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

Life happened as it tends to do. A divorce changed my direction as my son, and I left a beautiful home with all of the comforts to live in a tiny apartment “on our own.” The optimist in me saw only challenges ahead as I plowed through the years. Always happy to face the adventures, I met someone whom I adored. Dr. Robert Sears took my breath away. We married after dating for about a year. Never had I been happier until one summer on our sailboat, Linda, my husband displayed distressing symptoms. We rushed back to Macon, GA to discover that he developed an inoperable brain tumor. As I witnessed the loss of shine from his eyes and the glow that I loved, I was devastated.

Many years later, I share my life with my soul-mate, Jennings Gerald. As happy as I was earlier, my joy is manifest at last! God surely saved the “best to last.” Thank you, Buddy, for making my life complete. “Grateful to God” is an understatement as I look at my life. Now, God has added a new blessing, writing! What joy I find each day reaching out to readers that He has placed in my path. My prayer is that you will find inspiration and peace in books that I write with love. God inspires them, I write them.

It's All About The Difference

That is what makes me unique

I have never experienced writer’s block. My problem is finding time to write all that I have in my mind. Writing is such a wonderful creative outlet for me. The possibility of transporting a reader to a different place. Maybe their life is wonderful and happy but maybe not.

The opportunity to provide someone, reading my book, with a chance to smile or escape the pressures of their day thrills me. Maybe a reader will seek medical care for an issue which seemed unimportant before sitting down with my book. My favorite authors are John Grisham, Nicholas Sparks, and Nelson De Mille. My favorite genre is Mystery. I am inspired by the wonders of nature and my fellow-man.
